Jorge Garc\u00eda Ortiz, secretario nacional del Consorcio Mexicano de Hospitales, admiti\u00f3 que la rara enfermedad est\u00e1 atacando a la poblaci\u00f3n infantil de m\u00e1s de 20 pa\u00edses pero en M\u00e9xico no hay casos.
\u201cSe sabe que es un virus que causa otro tipo de enfermedades como respiratorias en ni\u00f1os, sobre todo, pero no se sabe que est\u00e1 ocasionando esta epidemia. Ha sido sobre todo en Europa y Reino Unido donde se han detectado alguno casos y se sabe que se est\u00e1 dando una hepatitis extra\u00f1a por causas raras\u201d.
Es de mencionar que la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) inform\u00f3 el martes que suman 348 casos probables de una misteriosa variante de hepatitis, que afecta especialmente a ni\u00f1os.
La enfermedad se ha manifestado en ni\u00f1os de un mes y hasta 16 a\u00f1os.
Garc\u00eda Ortiz consider\u00f3 que es importante inmunizar a los ni\u00f1os contra el Covid pues la hepatitis no est\u00e1 relacionada con la vacuna.
\u201cLos ni\u00f1os tienen un sistema inmune diferente pero no hay que dejarlos fuera de las inmunizaciones. Los primeros virus de Covid no atacaban mucho a los ni\u00f1os pero las mutaciones si les llegaron.
